Warrior's Lament
Words by : Dagonell Collingwood
Tune of : The Band of Shearers (slowly)
I'll fight no more for king and crown,
And spill more blood upon the ground.
I'd rather wive and settle down,
And live a life that's peaceful.
I'll train no more with sword in hand.
Instead, I'll till the fertile land.
Endless bloodshed on my hands,
Leaves a stain of red on my soul.
I've killed many foes too young to shave.
I've seen friends die I could not save.
War leads to an early grave,
And I long to see a grandson.
I'll fight no more for king and crown,
And spill more blood upon the ground.
I'd rather wive and settle down,
And live a life that's peaceful.
